hey all - just checking out the forum here for the first time in a while - i havent had any issues, so i havent really *needed* to come here.
just want to say its great that we can all help each other out - looks like some great posts and fixes. SO- i have just reached my 1 year anniversary with my 64S - and the printer has been absolutley fantastic - i cant say anything negitive about the machine. yes, it was a learning curve, and i still learn everyday, but (fingers crossed) everything has been very productive and i had my ROI within 6 months of installing the unit. I've only had 3 service calls - 1st was a tracking problem (this was due to the initial installers who had the feeding reels out of align - 2nd was a sensor on the wiper unit that got gunked up and wouldnt switch right - and lastly, i had 2 heads replaced.
So now, i guess we are paying up for our 2nd year warranty....ouch, but what can you do. the instant you dont renew, the whole thing will probably fall apart!
i am a small shop, and had i known my workflow would have exploded this much, i would have gotten the 64 the week it came out - i sat on the fence for 1 year because it was a new machine and wanted to see how it did in the real world, as i wasnt all that impressed with the JV's.
at least in my shop - it EASILY takes the place of 2 people now - the only vinyl i stock now is basic colors - its just amazing what this printer has done for my business.
i totally agree. if i had known how good this thing is, i'd have bought it a year before. there were so many jobs we could have done better if we had it earlier, and there were some we just could not do, because we could not provide this quality.
owning a seiko makes me laugh at rolands. boy how those machine suck. it's like watching seiko in slow motion replay ;)
