Dual Roll

Has anyone go the dual roll option going?

Like everyone else we were sold on the idea until i actually got the machine and started asking questions. We are using Onyx 6.5 Rip and apparantly it doesnt support dual roll. I have no idea why they sell the machine pushing this option.

i have thanks, and it works really well. i must admoit that the rip vendors are struggling to get an option sorted, but for printing 2-up it's a godsend. doubles production!!

i did have to wait a while for it and some of the adjustments are a bit coarse but that seems normal for seiko!!

what rip are you using?

What media can you use (cos most rolls i get are 1370 wide) do you have to use the same media for both rolls?

i have heard that you have to set the rolls up as if they are one big piece of vinyl and then adjust the space between the rolls as if they are the space between copies (hope that makes sense) Seems a lot of mucking around.

tried it using caldera, colorgate and onyx.

i use 1270mm rolls of gloss sav which have been cut down. your media manufacturer or even supplier should be able to do this foc.

you don't really have to use the same rolls, but most rips see them as essentially one piece of media, so profiles need to be the same, hence why you need the same or very similar substrates.
