I would like to hear how end users are solving this problem. I cannot print a job without this problem. Light colors print okay, but rich dark colors, even red, print with the segmented bar. Seiko calls it a rip problem. I am a sign shop. Now I have to learn color management and get into an area that i particulary don't like. But I did try Onyx and I had the same problems. Techs have been to my shop and basically say: That's acceptable printing on a solvent printer. I have to buy that, but my clients don't. I am looking into a Roland converted solvent printer that appears to not have these problems. My competitor picked up a job the seiko can't print, because of banding bars, theirs does not have them and seems to be able to print solid colors better. Using PhotoPrint (flexi product) Have had several months and only been able to sell job site boards and some "you are here" vinyls. Not worth it to me any more. Like a welfare printer. But if there are some clues to adjusting it or real world solutions... I am listening.
dont fool yourself or let anyone else do it either.Roland says theirs works becauuse they have profiles setup using their material, go outside that and who knows. For now in the solvent world youre going to have to learn a little about color and such.Make adj to your step adjust.are u certain all alignments are good.if so 720 8 pass should print very accectable images.
