Head alignment seems to change after a cleaning...

Anyone ever experienced this or have an idea what might cause it?

I am not a tech, nut just a guy who has restored a 64s to 99%.

You might want to check your Head Voltages.
Each head has 2 voltages (LR)

Write down the voltages for each head and then verify and or adjust for the Maint Menu.

The machine I restored had voltages all out of whack and I think that was due to the previous 2 owners
changing heads and not entering the correct voltages.

These days in general I do not let the printer run its head cleaning.
I clean the caps and move the heads to the wiper station, and with a lint free saturated towel I am able to
slide my hand and towel under the carriage and clean the heads.
If an one head has any clogged jets I simply hold the towel in place for a minute, and that clears it up.

I also keep an eye on the position of the capping station, because if I have learned anything about these machines
the capping station is a religion.

Hope this helps.

Charlie
