Vutek QS3200 error

We're operating a Vutek QS3200 and keep getting a carriage drive error. The problem happens randomly and can't be pinpointed. We've already formatted both computer hard drives to no solution. When we try to run in unidirection, it errors immediately. When we run in bidirection, it happens randomly. We've already changed out the read encoder and the mj100.

Any ideas as to what it could be?

Since you changed read head, you need to check it when its in error. More than likely you are loosing communication between the carriage and boards or even a temporary loss of power to the carriage board. there are tiny connectors on top of the carriage that may be moving around. or you have a few board loose. You can check the power to the board on top of the carriage ( when the problem happens ) or when powered down reseat the board and check your cables. How old is the machine
