I am facing a problem in my VUTEK 3360, while scanning the media, not showing the accurate media width and an error displayed on firmware side, "scan platen timed out".
Support in this connection will be highly appreciated.
Exactly, what material. Also clean your metal capper tray. Ie the printer must see clean metal black then material then black to see material. you may need to adjust your sensor or even put small papers ( 1 inch 2cm ) of white paper under your material on the edges and fool the sensor.
Another quick fix might be placing some white vinyl over the platen sensor. I do this for mesh everytime. It should show that the material is the full machine width 129''. Then you would just set printer to 0 on your left offset with center turned off. Figure out where the printer starts the print and adjust depending on the exact placement of the material on the machine. The left dimension of your origin would be the exact same every time. This would rule out any possible issue except for the reading of the sensor which ellsmako2 just described. If this does not work then the problem has absolutely nothing to do with the sensor or the material.
