Lots of nice printers. Flatbet UV was hot. I wish I had the money to even think about getting a Vutek, NUR, etc.
Colorspan prices apparently are way down. I think they are about $39,000 for the 72SI (correct me if I'm wrong.) That's a great price considering it prints 73" wide and the inks cost $250 for 2 liters.
I saw Frank Fellers. He's the guy on the Fellers and Ameriban catalog covers (as well as their phone hold message voice.) 6' - 4" with black cowboy shirt, black jeans, cowboy boots and a white 10 gallon hat.
The Chinese and Korean companies finally realized they need to be able to speak English to sell to US customers. Most of them spoke well or had American representatives.
Roland had the best print quality that I observed. If those things weren't so friggin' slow!
Things I did NOT see at ISA:
Mimaki JV5 - although I heard one was there. They certainly weren't there in abundance. I would have noticed it. I did get a sales pitch from Jonathan at Reece Supply here in New Orleans about the new printer. Here are the advantages:
430 sq. ft. per hour (I can't think of how that will dry on a roll)
Many automatic functions including nozzle drop out detection (which, if it works, would virtually eliminate most banding problems), new ink system, automatic head height adjustment.
The price quoted to me was around $39,000 - not bad if the thing prints that fast with no banding ever. It couldn't have been ready for prime time yet though - otherwise there would have been one in every booth. Mimaki is always good for planting their printers into many, many booths.
