Summer and Winter Profiles

Hi guys, my Seiko Technician just left after having my machine down for the best part of a week. He said something to me that I am having a hard time believing.

He said that we should have separate icc profiles for the summer and winter for each media because of the climate changes. We have Air Conditioning for the summer and heat for the winter so the temperature doesn't change a whole lot from season to season but the humidity does. We get as low as 20% during the winter and on rainy or humid days it can get to 60%.

Does anybody else do this or is he making excuses for the machine not functioning well?

seems like an excuse to me, what's his name let's shame the man?

we use the printer all year round and yes there are some subtle changes from summer to winter, but we have only encountered these in real extremes i.e. when it's been 40C or -10C

There is no such thing as summer and winter profiles. As long as the printer is within the temp and humidity range for the ink  you are using you will get the same results.

Sometimes I shame myself for the sayings of other techs!!!
