very weird thing with CS 6060
(Preview)
Hello folks, it's been a long time, huh? Yes, haven't been here awhile, there were no problems and i had other duties. But now i'm back.
In the meantime my two machines only had the flat string cables replaced, twice, because they are wearing out so quickly. Oh well. But that would not be something t...

SCSI Issue
(Preview)
I'm currently running Wasatch as my rip with my colorpainter 64 and getting an error that says: "Available SCSI controller not found" I'm not sure if its a software issue or a SCSI card issue. Anybody run into a problem like this? Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Seiko Heads
(Preview)
Hi to all
I am new to this forum but have been working on the colorpainter since it came out here in Europe. We are not a main distributor so even we get the runaround concerning heads and faults, or lack thereov.
A question to the world, is anyone else having problems with the first version of the seco...

Just received our HP9000
(Preview)
Our printer arrived the other day, and was setup last night..... I must say, wow. Right out of the box without profiling the medias it even printed fantastic. When we did profile the media the quality was outstanding. No need to judge the quality of the prints by standing 5ft-10ft away, you can sit righ...

Given what you know now????
(Preview)
Hello all,
I am in the market for a new printer to replace my aging AZ180. I was considering the 100s but after reading through some of these posts, I'm not so sure.
So the question is, given what you know now would you buy the 100s again? Is there any advantage, other than paying more for ink, to wait fo...

I am looking for one head. I have been quoted 1390 by a local dealer, is that the true going rate? Anyone know of any good parts dealers?
Thanks.

Nozzles out
(Preview)
Here is a technique for getting back nozzles. I had several adjacent nozzles out - serious banding! I called Chromatek and Shane told me to do the following:
1. Turn the printer off (this lets the heads sit in the ink - most likely loosening up the dried out heads)
2. After about 30 minutes turn the...

Manual Cleaning of the Printhead
(Preview)
I've done the clean printhead routine from the control panel, every day we do this, but now the yellow priinthead stops working after a very short time (6-8 in.) How difficult is it to clean the printheads on the 64S? does anyone do this? I've had this printer for a year and it is just about off warranty. B...

Summer and Winter Profiles
(Preview)
Hi guys, my Seiko Technician just left after having my machine down for the best part of a week. He said something to me that I am having a hard time believing.
He said that we should have separate icc profiles for the summer and winter for each media because of the climate changes. We have Air Conditi...

Take Up Winding Solutions?
(Preview)
I've been running a lot of 8' banners lately and have been having trouble getting the banner material to track properly onto the take up reel. Part of the problem is the material. We are using Bantex Billboard 98, which is a glossy 10 oz. scrim banner. The material sticks to itself and as it wanders on the...

Engine Error 1253
(Preview)
Hi everybody. I have three questions:
1.) Does anybody know what the Engine Error 1253 means?
2.) Could anybody has a error-code list and could send me?
3.) Has anybody a wiring diagram?
Thank you for every hint or answer!

Ink Cartridge Recycle?
(Preview)
What does everyone do with the (very plentiful) empty ink cartidges. I have 2 huge stacks and I wanted to see if these can be reused. You would think Seiko would love to just fill them back up and reuse them. You would think.
It seems such a waste to throw these away.

Material waste
(Preview)
Does anyone know why some of the time when you send a job to the printer it rolls out about a yard of material?
This only happens about 50% of the time. I have to cancel the job roll back the material resend yadda yadda. Seriously a pain.
Any way I can stop it from doing this?

Head replacement
(Preview)
Soooo...has anyone else ever had to replace ALL 6 heads at once to solve a nozzle drop out problem?
I must admit that after several attempts at adjusting/cleaning the capping station and testing the ink supply for air leaks I ordered one head to test a theory and I'll be damned but it worked.
How&nb...

Ink - an issue
(Preview)
I've just been told (admittedly by the bloke trying to flog me Triangle inks) that Seiko have two different manufacturers for ink. One handles the CMYK range and the other the Light Cyan and Light Magenta.
I'm interested in this as as users hearing me whinge repeatedly in the past can attest,...

Any one wlse having this problem,
doesn't seem to matter how we adj the print we get the error and the printer stops printing.

Right to left color shift
(Preview)
Hello all.
I'm printing a multi-paneled job, ripping with onyx, and I'm consistantly getting a lighter color on the left side. It's so subtle that it's hard to see when looking at one panel, but when the next one to the left is placed by it, the difference is noticable as a lighter streak running top...

Fillink
(Preview)
I'm still intrigued by the prospect of using less cost ink in my printer. A dealer sales guy called me recently pushing me to try Fillink. I'm worried about my warranty, but this guy told me to just take out the fillink when the tech comes. Anyone doing this?
