Error Message"Could not communicate with Printer"
(Preview)
I'm Getting a Wasatch 5.1 error message saying "could not communicate with printer"
it is cancelling my Prints. I've re-installed Wasatch, and this still happens.
What could this be a symptom of? is it Printer related, or software related, or hardware related?
thanks in Advance.

176 sq ft in 4-pass????
(Preview)
We are new to the Seiko 64s and the reason we bought is was for the speed. We have yet to see the performance that it boasted. Is this speed dependant on the media? We seem to be getting around 80-100 sq ft an hour. Would this be consistent with the rest of you?

Heater unit?
(Preview)
Just curious to see how many people are running the external heater unit sold as an option. If you are running it, how would you rate it as being worth the $3500 investment?
Thanks!

Banding in Standard Mode
(Preview)
I am having trouble printing in standard mode without banding. I do all the cleaning and the service testcleans and even if the test come back clean the print only seems to be about band free about the first 6'. The print is usually a 8'x4' full coverage or a nest covering the same area. I have tried unidir...

Has anyone discovered a safe solvent to get jets unplugged? With Spectra heads, one can use acetone. Is this safe for the Konica head? What do you suggest to get a head with a few jets unplugged?

360x720 Bidirectional -4 pass vs 720x720 Bidirectional -4 pass
Do these settings use same amount of ink?
Is more ink consumed by number of passes?
Or does the ink limit control ink usage?
Is there someone out there who can expla...

360 dpi and 720 dpi
(Preview)
What is the difference when you RIP al 360 dpi and 720 dpi?
Less ink used?, Faster RIP time?
I use Onyx Postershop and I can't see any difference in printing quality (besides the printing speed and the color a little lighter)
Thanx

CMYK v/s CMYKLcLm
(Preview)
I have a few questions about CMYK mode printing. 1) Does CMYK uses less ink than CMYKLcLm mode? 2) How much less? (10%, 20%, 30%...) 3) What is the printer resolution when you print in CMYK mode?. Is it 360 dpi,480 dpi? I'm asking because it's very easy to tell the difference between 4 color and 6 color pri...

Seiko - is it worth it ?
(Preview)
Hi,
I'm thinking about buying seiko over Roland SJ-740.
1/ What about inks? Any third-party inks ? They are much more expensive than ones for Roland, especially since it is now so easy to convert Roland to mild-solvent (not eco) machine.
BTW: if a company voids a warranty because one used thi...

Media Counter?
(Preview)
being a old inkjet person i miss the media counter that was in the HP5000. Does Seiko plan on making that part of its next firmware? It sure helps me keep track of my media usage while I do other jobs. Does anyone have any ideas for modifying some type of counter?

In reply to cdezign in general
without getting personal, but by monitoring both forums it seems the you are all negative about almost anything. If this is so, why don't you just get rid of all this equipment and go on with life. I am getting really tired of reading in almost any reply to almost any issue...

53' Print limit

Does anyone know how to hack the 53' print limit with Onyx. I have talked to Onyx tech support and they had a couple suggestions but they said the issue is known there and a solution is probably around June or July.
Thanks
